Brighton & Hove Albion loanee Michal Karbownik is keen on staying at Dusseldorf following the end of his loan spell at the German club.
That’s said by the player himself, as he’s today quoted by Bild speaking about his future.
“I feel great here and I can definitely imagine it. Above all, I would like to play in the Bundesliga,” said Karbownik.
Dusseldorf have Karbownik loaned by Brighton until the end of the season, and they do have an option to buy him at the end of the spell. According to Bild, the fee to make the move permanent is of €3m.
The problem is that the German club wouldn’t have the money to afford that transfer unless they get promoted to the first division next season. Right now, they stand on the 7th place.
Karbownik joined Brighton on a €5.5m move from Legia Warszawa in 2020, having only completed the move in January 2021.
It turns out he was of little use for the Seagulls, getting only two appearances for the club, having then being sent on loans to Olympiacos and now Dusseldorf.
Now as the player would like to feature in Bundesliga, it seems that all depends on how Dusseldorf’s campaign for promotion will go.
