Torino midfielder Sasa Lukic has admitted he has ‘big ambitions’ amid reported interest from Leeds United.
The 26-year-old midfielder was linked with a move to Elland Road in the summer transfer window, when Leeds were spending big for new manager Jesse Marsch.
A report at the beginning of August stated that Leeds were interested in the midfielder and would ‘try’ to get him in the summer window.
At that point in time, he was considered as unsellable by the Italian club and talks were expected for the two clubs to try and find an agreement.
Ultimately that never happened, and Lukic remained at Torino, where he has been a regular again this season and scored two goals in 12 Serie A games.
With his contract set to expire in 2024 a move next summer could be on the cards if he doesn’t sign a new deal and he was recently asked about the interest from Leeds, during which he left door open to a possible transfer, perhaps as early as January.
“To be honest, I have big ambitions,” Toro News report him saying to Sportal.rs
“I’m sure I’ll get where I set my sights, and whether it’s after the World Cup or next summer, we’ll see.”
