AC Milan have identified Leeds United’s Luis Sinisterra as a target to replace Rafael Leão in the summer.
That’s at least what Italian journalist Carlo Pellegatti is reporting, and he made this claim on his Youtube channel, which has been relayed by MilanLive.it.
Last summer, Leeds allowed the winger to join AFC Bournemouth on a loan deal and took Jaidon Anthony in exchange.
Andoni Iraola has mainly used the Colombia international as a substitute this season. He’s scored three goals and registered three assists from 17 games.
The Leeds owned player has been backed to become Leão’s successor, if the latter were to leave the San Siro.
“In the event Leão leaves, who can be the replacement? I assure you the replacement is there, he plays in the Premier League, and I’ve been talking about him for years,” he said.
“He’s exactly the right player, he’s one of the very rare footballers who could perhaps replace Leão in terms of fun, technical and entertainment level, we are talking about Luis Sinisterra. Already sensational at Feyenoord, then bought by Leeds for €25m.”
The South American’s current deal at Leeds United lasts until 2027 and the journalist claims he’s “worth at least €25-30m”.
On Sinisterra, Pellegatti explained: “He plays on the left, but with Colombia he mainly plays on the right. He’s a San Siro player, I assure you. He would be the ideal figure, but it’s all futuristic…”
Pellegatti makes no mention of whether the attacker or the Whites are ready to negotiate a deal with Milan. As of now, Sinisterra is set to return to Elland Road after his loan spell at Bournemouth.
