Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund have shown interest in Brighton & Hove Albion’s Pascal Gross.
Two days ago, Bild reported Dortmund have explored their chances of trying to sign the 32-year-old in the summer window.
Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share the latest on the Brighton player’s future.
With a contract expiring in 2025, the midfielder’s future still remains uncertain.
The Bundesliga duo are in the picture to sign the Germany international, who hasn’t yet made a decision on where he wants to play next season. His focus seems to be on the Euros.
Brighton appointed Fabian Hürzeler as Roberto De Zerbi’s successor last week, and the new manager is keen to retain the player at The Amex.
Hürzeler has already called Gross ‘several times’, to convince him to extend his stay at the Premier League side. Plettenberg adds the Seagulls coach wants to build his new project around the German.
Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt and Dortmund are still lurking, with BVB in pole position because of their good ties with Gross’ agents. There are concrete talks ongoing between the two parties.
Gross is yet to make his final decision, and it remains to be seen whether Hürzeler can stop his exit this summer.
