It seems the transfer of Andre Carrillo from Benfica to Watford is finally close to being done.

According to A Bola this afternoon, the Peruvian player should be heading to England to have his medical and sign a contract soon.

A Bola normally waits for the newspaper edition to bring this kind of news, but as they’ve posted it on their website this time, it’s probably a good sign things are finally moving fast.

The Portuguese newspaper recalls Watford were having problems getting the player a work permit, and although they don’t say how the club managed to achieve it, it’s presented like this isn’t an issue now.

A Bola believe the transfer will be made official and announced before the end of the week.

According to what the Portuguese press had been saying, Watford will pay €1m for the loan spell, and will also cover all of the player’s salary and bonuses he would have earned at Benfica.
