Hull City sent an official to Sunday’s game between Fenerbahçe and Akhisar Belediye, according to claims in the Turkish media. The Premier League side have been linked with Fenerbahçe defender Gregory van der Wiel in recent months, and could make another attempt to sign the player this summer.

SporX have confirmed Hull City were on the scouting list for to watch Fenerbahce’s 3-1 victory, and they were joined by Manchester City, Manchester United, Werder Bremen, and Villarreal. Following Hull City’s links with Van der Wiel during the last window it’s been claimed the English side are still showing an interest in the Dutchman.

Last week we covered claims from Turkey that Hull City still want to sign Van der Wiel, and could look to land the player in the next window. The full back has been frozen out at Fenerbahce due to discipline issues, and the Turkish club tried to offload him in January.

It could cost Hull City up to €5m to sign the 29-year-old, and they will reportedly face competition from Monaco, Marseille and Sporting Lisbon.
