On Friday, we covered claims from France which stated Hull City were expected to send an offer for AS Monaco’s Eliot Matazo.
The Championship side have made firm progress in their efforts to sign the 22-year-old in the winter market.
FC Nantes showed interested in Matazo, but Hull City have managed to get ahead of them in the transfer race.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who state the Tigers have ‘reached a total agreement’ with the Ligue 1 side to buy the midfielder for €2-2.5m. It’s now down to the Belgian to decide whether he wants to join Hull City or wait for another club.
Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to also state Hull City and Monaco have agreed a €2.5m deal for Matazo.
The player had a video conference call with Rubén Sellés’ side, likely to understand their project and plans for him. The English club have offered a four-year deal to the Monaco player, who needs to decide whether to join them.
At this moment in time, Matazo only has a concrete offer from Hull City and Tavolieri says he ‘could accept it’ if there are no other interesting proposals.
