Jaden Philogene’s agent appears to be playing games with Barcelona this summer, with the Hull City star preferring to stay in England and move to the Premier League.
That’s according to Sport, who say that while the agent has been posting photos of himself in Barcelona, this is something of a misdirection.
The newspaper explains that Philogene’s agent ‘plays with Barcelona’ this summer, posting several images on his Instagram during a visit to the club’s facilities.
This had sparked suggestions the Hull City man was on his way to the Camp Nou, but Sport say the reality is that the potential transfer has gone cold and Philogene is prioritising staying in England and moving to the Premier League.
That’s not stopped his agent, Iva Camacho, from publishing several images on his Instagram profile of travelling to Barcelona.
He’s posted photos of him at the boarding gate, landing at Barcelona-El Prat airport and his corresponding arrival at FC Barcelona’s offices at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper in Sant Joan Despí.
However, Sport have learned that the images were taken a month ago, when Barcelona were actively trying to sign Philogene on loan from Hull with a purchase option.
That deal has gone cold, though, as Philogene has opted to continue his career in England and move to the Premier League instead.
Jijantes have a slightly different stance, stating that Philogene wanted Barcelona but they’re instead focused on Nico Williams.
They insist Barcelona never really showed interest in the Hull City star beyond holding a meeting about him. He now appears to be set for a move to the Premier League, even if his agent’s social media activity is hinting at something else.
