Hull City goalkeeper Ivor Pandur could receive a call up from Croatia manager Zlatko Dalić for March’s international break.

That’s according to Tuesday’s edition of 24 Sata, who cover the Hull City player and other options that Dalić could consider.

Pandur arrived at the MKM Stadium from Fortuna Sittard in January 2024 and spent that season on the bench. He waited for eight months to make his Hull City debut in August of that year.

Since then, the 25-year-old has been the first-choice goalkeeper for the Tigers. He has kept 15 clean sheets and conceded 98 goals from 76 matches of which nine clean sheets and 46 goals conceded are from this season.

How Hull City form can pay off

On November 5th, the stopper expressed his delight that he’s on Dalić’s radar for the national team. He had also talked about his desire to make a switch to a club in Italy or Spain.

A few days later, he received his first call up for November’s international break. The Hull City player ended up on the bench for two World Cup qualifiers against Faroe Islands and Montenegro.

Croatia have friendlies against Colombia and Brazil during the next international break. Dominik Livaković has been the No.1 for his country in recent years and that’s unlikely to change unless there’s a fitness/injury concern.

Livaković left Girona and made a switch to Dinamo Zagreb, which allowed him to enjoy regular minutes and regain form. This only strengthens his place in the national team.

Tigers stopper in contention for March fixtures

Dalić has to make a decision on his second-choice goalkeeper due to Hajduk Split stopper Ivica Ivušić’s injury since November. This had opened the door for Pandur, and he could receive another call up next month.

According to 24 Sata, the Hull City man and FC Copenhagen’s Dominik Kotarski are the two candidates in contention for the backup role.

The newspaper state: ‘Both defend at a high level, the first in Copenhagen, the second in Hull City. They have the advantage because they are in their prime and in competitive form at the highest level.’
Pandur could also be in the running to make it to the manager’s final squad for the World Cup.
24 Sata state: ‘It’s difficult to predict what Dalić will decide, whom he’ll take to America as the third goalkeeper. Livaković, Kotarski and Pandur are in the lead, but Livaković is 31, while Kotarski and Pandur are both 26. It makes sense to take a young goalkeeper instead of one of them to maintain continuity. The frontrunner for the fourth call-up, and possibly a place on the flight to Washington, is Toni Silić, who took over in goal for Hajduk after Ivušić’s injury.’
