It appears that Boubacar Kamara will be missing the World Cup, meaning he will also miss a number of games for Aston Villa.
That’s what L’Equipe are reporting, who explain the player, who wasn’t able to take part in the international break because of a knee injury, ‘should be unavailable for at least two months’.
Therefore, he will not be available for Didier Deschamps in Qatar, which, in turn, means Steven Gerrard will have to make do without him.
The issue arose during the game against Southampton, when Kamara was taken off by the Aston Villa manager as a precaution, and it appears it was for a good cause.
The French newspaper reveal the tests came back showing the player had sprained his knee quite badly, and he was immediately sent to Dubai to get it treated.
As a result of this, Kamara isn’t expected to be able to play ‘until mid-November, at the earliest’.
That will be a blow to Aston Villa, who will have wanted their summer signing back as soon as possible, and since the World Cup starts on November 20th, it’s expected Deschamps will overlook him entirely for his squad.
