It appears that Sunderland are going to miss out on Kim Hellberg, who will not be taking over the Black Cats in the Championship.
The news has come from Aftonbladet, who explain that the young manager will instead be taking over at Hammarby.
In fact, everything is happening very quickly, as they claim that if ‘nothing unforeseen happens’, the Värnamo manager will not being going to England and Sunderland, but be with his new club ‘within a week’.
They explain that the Swedish side have been looking for a new manager for some time now, and they met with a few including Eirik Horneland, currently at Brann, and Hellberg.
Aftonbladet recall that the manager did have an interview with Sunderland about their position for manager, although it appears he won’t be going there.
They do mention that the British press seem to think the job will be going to Will Still, although that remains to be seen, as the Stade de Reims manager appears to be happy where he is now.
Therefore, Sunderland will have to look elsewhere now that Hellberg appears set to stay in Sweden.
