Argentina’s 2-0 loss to Bolivia last Tuesday has obviously not gone down well in the country. The press went heavy on the team, probably frustrated that the current squad haven’t won anything.

Olé, the biggest Argentine sports newspaper, has conducted a poll which had over 125k votes. They were asking which players should stay in the starting team and which should be dropped.

The three Manchester City players (Nicolas Otamendi, Sergio Aguero and Pablo Zabaleta) are going through very different periods with the national team and the opinions on them are distinct.

Capturar2According to the poll, 86% of the fans want Sergio Aguero out of the team. That’s the second worst percentage in the squad, only behind Ezequiel Lavezzi, who has 88% disapproval. The negative result also comes to Zabaleta, who is wanted out of the team by 81%.

CapturarNicolas Otamendi, on the other hand, seems to have his stock high. 85% of the people who voted want to keep him starting. He’s in fifth place among the most liked players, only behind Ramiro Funes Mori, Gabriel Mercado, Lionel Messi and Paolo Dybala.

Would a poll among Manchester City fans have the same result with these three players? Most probably not.
