Signing Terence Kongolo on a permanent deal was the transfer news most Huddersfield Town fans had been patiently (and some not so patiently) waiting for.
The 24 year old had impressed supporters whilst on loan from AS Monaco last season, and last month confirmed to the Dutch media that Huddersfield were looking to get him back.
Making it clear he had no intention of returning to Monaco to simply sit on their bench, Kongolo always seemed to be edging towards another exit.
Huddersfield have got it done early and can now move on to other business, according to Foot Mercato’s Rablat Cedric, that includes making a move for Moussa Niakhate.
The 22 year old central defender, who can also play as a left back, is currently with FC Metz, where he has a contract until 2021.
Rabat reports Huddersfield are ‘ready to make an offer’ for the player, but they also state Niakhate prefers a Ligue 1 stay for now. That could be a game time situation, like Kongolo at Monaco, so Huddersfield would have to be convincing.
