In July 2017, Italy’s TMW reported Huddersfield Town were closing in on a deal for Ante Rebic, and it was claimed Brighton & Hove Albion were also considering a swoop for the player.

A deal was presented as close, with it being claimed Huddersfield were in pole position and would pay around €4.5m for the then Fiorentina winger.

Nothing materialised in the end, and on August 31st a loan move to Eintracht Frankfurt, where Rebic had been the previous season, was confirmed. The German club secured a buying option this summer the 24 year old becomes a permanent signing for them.

This week’s edition of German magazine SportBild reports Huddersfield remain interested in the player, but it sound like the Terriers have missed their chance.

Tottenham are also presented as keen, and it’s claimed Rebic now wouldn’t be interested in a move to Huddersfield.

On top of that, Frankfurt are looking for €30m+ if they’re to sell the player, after a successful season in the Bundesliga.

Ante Rebic could be one that got away for Huddersfield Town.
