On Tuesday, Le Parisien in France explained that Manchester United were still well in the race for Randal Kolo Muani as they continue to look for their new striker.
This came off the back of a good performance for his national team against Greece, and L’Equipe piggyback off this on Wednesday, explaining the forward is becoming ‘more and more expensive’ and the ‘hour of decision is approaching’ when it comes to his future, with the ‘next few days’ potentially decisive.
Manchester United are mentioned, as they are one of two clubs targeting him to bolster their attack alongside Bayern Munich.
The two European giants have ‘become serious’ for Kolo Muani, with it said the Red Deivls ‘will have the means’ of gifting themselves the goalscorer.
However, they do warn that Manchester United’s current sale, with the Glazer family dragging their feet when it comes to make a decision ‘could slow everything down when the time to close comes’.
Regarding the price that would need to be paid, it’s recalled that Eintracht Frankfurt are ‘fixed the bar at €100m’ to be able to start negotiations.
L”Equipe, though, don’t believe this will necessarily need to be paid all at once, and ‘one can imagine that the negotiations will end around a deal worth €60-70m up front with bonuses potentially reaching €30-40m’.
As for the player, while he has said publicly he could see himself staying another year with his current club, the newspaper reveal that, in private, he does see himself reaching the very top level ‘in the short term’, meaning soon.
Eintracht’s new manager, Dino Toppmöller, also wants to sit down with him to try and convince him to stay, but whether he manages that remains to be seen.
