Dimitri Payet’s possible transfer to Marseille is starting to become a pain in the backside, mostly because no-one seems to agree on anything.
The English press remain adamant the Ligue 1 side have given up on trying to bring their former star back to the Stade Vélodrome, while their French counterparts maintain their stance that talks with West Ham are still ongoing, with bids of €25m+ having been made.
La Provence on Wednesday are the latest with an update, claiming the attacking midfielder is still very keen on a return to the south of France, even if he did start getting worried towards the end of last week when there was a lack of news.
The local newspaper make it very clear both West Ham and Marseille are still in negotiations over a possible deal, with the Ligue 1 side making a €29m + €2m bid.
The Hammers were, as of Tuesday night, yet to reply to the latest offer, but La Provence report that there is hope from Marseille’s side a deal will be concluded in the next 48 hours.
Progress is progress, right?
