FC Twente are hoping that Newcastle United go big for Christos Tzolis this summer, as they’ll be set to benefit.

Twente Insite report that the Dutch club would benefit from FIFA’s Solidarity Scheme if Newcastle move to sign Tzolis as a replacement for Anthony Gordon this summer.

Newcastle interest in Tzolis

Reports have linked Newcastle with a potential move for Christos Tzolis this summer should Anthony Gordon leave.

The English forward is reportedly a target for Bayern Munich. Several reports in Germany have claimed that Bayern see plenty of benefits to a deal this summer. Newcastle are also, reportedly, willing to do a deal for the 25-year-old.

If he does depart a replacement will be needed and reports have named Tzolis as an option. The 24-year-old has been impressing at Club Brugge since 2024, with 38 goals and 38 assists in 102 games to date.

He’s very much now living up to early expectations, and a big move may be on the way. Twente are certainly hoping that Newcastle spend big.

€30m valuation

Christos Tzolis currently has a €30m valuation, and if Newcastle or anyone else paid such a price, Twente would receive €150,000. That would be a ‘nice bonus’ for the Dutch club.

But they also think they could earn move. Twente Insite report that during the previous transfer window, Newcastle didn’t pay a fee below €35m on their five signings.

They are clearly rubbing their hands at the prospect of a big move for Christos Tzolis. That’s even if they’re only due a small percentage of any deal.

It all depends on Anthony Gordon, though. If he departs for Bayern Munich in a big money deal, Newcastle will have the money to go spend big on a replacement like Tzolis. And if they do, Twente will be rubbing their hands.

They only had the winger on loan for a season in 2022, but FIFA’s Solidarity Scheme will see them benefit regardless.
