De Telegraaf have a big feature in their Tuesday edition on Virgil Van Dijk and the clubs interested in signing him.

Being a Dutch newspaper, De Telegraaf are drawn towards Ronald Koeman’s wish to sign the player for Everton. Koeman was behind Van Dijk moving to Southampton in the first place, and now the manager wants him at Goodison Park, according to the Dutch claims.

The defender’s alleged £25m buyout clause is covered and De Telegraaf believe that figure would be no problem for Everton given the will to invest from the club’s owner. What would be a problem is that bigger clubs are now also circling and therefore it would be hard to convince the player.

Van DijkJaap Stam currently holds the record for most expensive Dutch defender and De Telegraaf believe that record will be ‘quickly broken’ with Van Dijk leaving Southampton.

Worryingly for Southampton supporters, the Dutch feeling is that a Van Dijk transfer is likely, and it’s just a question of where the defender goes.

With Champions League level interest, De Telegraaf think it’ll be hard for Koeman to convince Van Dijk that a reunion is the best move for his career.
