Thomas Frank initially joined Brentford in December 2016 as assistant to manager Dean Smith.

In October 2018, the Bees promoted to the Dane to the first-team manager after Smith’s exit. He has been in charge since then and was instrumental in helping Brentford return to the Premier League in 2021.

Brentford have been in the top division and are 11th in the table, above both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Frank has emerged as a surprise contender for the RB Leipzig job if Sky Deutschland is to be believed.

Last weekend, the Bundesliga club parted ways with Marco Rose and appointed Zsolt Löw as the interim manager until the end of this season.

Red Bull global director Jürgen Klopp and other Leipzig officials are working behind the scenes to appoint Rose’s permanent successor.

Frank is a ‘candidate’ and his career in the Premier League is ‘highly valued’, likely by Leipzig. He has a contract with the London club until 2027, but Sky claim the 51-year-old is ‘ready to take the next step’.

Tottenham Hotspur also have Frank in their list if they decide to show Ange Postecoglou the exit door.

Leipzig are watching Frank closely and have to pay a fee to Brentford if they decide to bet on him.

As well as the Brentford coach, Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner, Roger Schmidt and a few other targets are on Leipzig’s list.
