Once again there’s some optimism at Fenerbahce over the future of Jeremain Lens. The Turkish media swing from thinking a deal can be done, to worrying about the player’s exit because Fener can’t come up with the money Sunderland want.

Hurriyet think there’s now a bright-side, and a new idea – Fenerbahce can get Lens on loan from Sunderland again.

It may sound a good move for the Turkish club, but surely Sunderland would prefer to sell the player permanently, wherever that means he ends up.

Fenerbahce believe they have the will of the player on their side, and whilst interest from Besiktas could make things more difficult and lead to a higher loan fee, it’s thought a deal can be found with Sunderland.

The optimism is perhaps misplaced given the circumstances. Sunderland haven’t been thrilled with Fenerbahce’s efforts at knocking the value of the deal down, and they’re hardly likely to jump at the idea of a loan just to help Lens out.
