Manchester City midfielder Rodri has revealed that Erling Haaland spends all day with the club’s masseur to ensure he is at peak fitness all the time.
The Spain midfielder recently sat down for an interview with El Larguero in which he discussed several topics, including his Manchester City teammate.
Haaland has been the star of the show for Pep Guardiola’s side this season after arriving from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
Since then, he hasn’t looked back and has continued his superb goalscoring form from his time in Germany, bagging 42 goals and five assists in 37 games in all competitions.
Key to that has been maintaining his fitness and being available, with Haaland featuring in 87% of the available minutes in the Premier League this season.
So far he has only missed two games for Manchester City through injury, courtesy of a bruised foot suffered in October last year, although that could be extended with him recently pulling out of international duty with an adductor issue.
Those aside he has been fit and available for Manchester City throughout this season and Rodri has revealed that is due to the player’s desire to look after himself.
“Haaland is made of different stuff, he is a rock, a Viking,” he told El Larguero.
“Haaland takes good care of himself, he’s with the masseur all day. He’s made of different stuff, he’s a rock, a Viking. Hopefully his injury is nothing, but let’s hope he leaves us alone.
“He’s scoring an impressive amount of goals and it’s his first year and he’s still adapting.
“He has room for improvement within the concepts that we manage at Manchester City, and even so it’s incredible the numbers he has.”
