Leander Dendoncker will make a positive impression while on loan at Napoli from Aston Villa and should help the Italian champions to stop leaking goals.
That’s at least according to journalist Paolo Del Genio, who has continued his recent praise of the Belgian midfielder after he moved to Napoli in January.
Dendoncker completed a loan move to Napoli in the winter window, joining them on loan until the end of the season to help boost Walter Mazzarri’s options in midfield.
He arrived as a low-cost, short-term solution for the Italian side, who had been promised signings by President Aurelio de Laurentiis following a disappointing first half of the season following their title win last year.
The hope is that Dendoncker can help them to turn things around and get his career back on track, having found himself somewhat stagnating since joining Aston Villa.
Del Genio has been signing the Aston Villa midfielder’s praises since his arrival, backing him to do well in comments back in January when the deal was close to being done.
He’s now continuing on that path, praising the Belgian once again and insisting he will bring a lot to Napoli between now and the end of the season.
“I know him, I’ll tell you what a footballer he is,” Area Napoli report him saying.
“He’s a very good player. especially good at tackling, skilled at tackling, capable of playing a little further back, in defence.
“He won’t steal the eye, he’s not a fine speaker, but of substance, a midfielder of centimetres. He can lend a hand in not taking goals.”
