Two days ago, Faro de Vigo reported Celta Vigo are keen on signing Liverpool’s Stefan Bajčetić on a loan deal this summer. It was also stated the Reds are demanding that he plays as a centre-back.
There was no mention of whether the La Liga side are willing to accept Liverpool’s conditions.
Celta aren’t the only club in the picture to sign the Liverpool player, according to La Voz de Galicia.
It’s claimed the 19-year-old is wanted by Real Sociedad, Villarreal, Las Palmas, Valencia and two Premier League sides. The details of the English clubs aren’t mentioned.
The Spain U21 international has been mainly used as a defensive midfielder, while he can be used in the heart of the defence.
The report states Liverpool want the club that’ll sign him on loan to use him as a midfielder instead of a centre-back. This claim contradicts what was reported by Faro de Vigo earlier this week.
Bajčetić was part of Celta’s youth system for seven years before joining Liverpool in 2020. Celta manager Claudio Giráldez has now opened the door for him to return to the club.
“The market is open, and he’s one more possibility. He is a player that I know, who knows the house, that we have trained, and he is one more possibility. We’ll see what happens,” he said.
The Spaniard has made 22 appearances for Liverpool’s senior team so far.
