By the end of October, a few reports emerged in Brazil claiming that Manchester City are interested in the signing of Internacional striker Yuri Alberto.
It was claimed that the player’s agent André Cury confirmed the chase, even though there had been no official bid from the Premier League side so far.
Now this weekend, Inter president Alessandro Barcellos was interviewed by ESPN show Bola da Vez, and was, of course, quizzed about the youngster’s future.
Directly asked about Manchester City, the president claimed there’s nothing so far, and made it clear that the Brazilian side will work on keeping the striker for longer.
“We heard about it. Of course, nothing concrete has arrived for the club. But we saw it,” Alessandro Barcellos told ESPN.
“Others have, at some point, concretely approached the club, but we are also making this effort so that we can keep Yuri Alberto”
Despite Inter’s plans to have Yuri Alberto in their squad for as long as possible, the president also admitted that his market value is something that would help the club sort part of their financial issues.
Yuri Alberto has 18 goals and four assists in 50 appearances for the club this season.
Reports from Brazil recently claimed that €16-18m would be enough to take him from the club.
