It’s seems that Emerson Royal’s first appearances for Tottenham Hotspur were quite positive for his international career.

The fullback had been left aside in Brazil’s last call-up, when manager Tite chose Danilo Luiz and Dani Alves for the right-back position.

However, according to a report from Globo Esporte, Emerson could now feature in the new list, which is going out on Friday.

Tite is said to be having second thoughts about Dani Alves. The 38-year-old last featured for São Paulo in late August and has since rescinded his contract with the club.

Meanwhile, Emerson’s first games for Tottenham are reportedly drawing the staff’s attention. He already left a ‘good impression’ at the Copa America and is now proving himself in the Premier League.

Globo Esporte says the staff noticed a ‘big defensive evolution’ in the player. He has ‘more offensive strength’ and ‘overlapping plays’ than Danilo and Dani Alves.

Emerson is now in the list of 40 players, and only 25 will be selected for Friday. The squad will play Venezuela, Colombia and Uruguay between the 7th and 14th of October.

For Tottenham, unless the rules on quarantine change, it’s another headache ahead of the international break.
