The Chelsea version of Eden Hazard is the one Real Madrid thought they were buying.

Zidane Zidane had long been a big fan of the Blues player, yet Florentino Perez held back on making an effort. Even with Hazard sending as many hints as he possibly could about a move to Los Blancos, Perez was hesitant about getting into a transfer war with Chelsea.

When it came to the Belgian only having a year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge it provided the Spanish side with a chance to pounce, but even then the move cost them well over €100m.

Sending all that money to Chelsea just hasn’t been worth it, and that’s something the media close to Real Madrid complain about on a regular basis.

This time it’s the turn of AS, and in their Saturday edition the newspaper states: ‘In the last 365 days he has played only 20 games and scored 3 goals. His talent is not in dispute. His physique and his head, for the moment, stayed in London.’

Real Madrid continue to wait for the Chelsea version of Hazard to show up, nearly two years after signing him from the Premier League club.
