Everton are continuing to try and persuade Youssef En-Nesyri to join this month, but he is ‘having none of it’.
That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport. According to their information, the Moroccan striker is not keen on the weather or Liverpool in general.
They cover the striker in relation to a move to Napoli. They are also eyeing him this month as they need a replacement for the injured Romelu Lukaku.
En-Nesyri is at the top of the list, particularly because Fenerbahce are open to a loan deal. And the striker likes the idea of the move to Naples, because he’s focused on ‘quality of life’.
According to Gazzetta he ‘continues to refuse advances’ from Everton because of this. They’re pressing him but he’s ‘having none of it’. He believes England is too cold, while he also factors in the city and the quality of life. He clearly believes that Naples is a better prospect than Liverpool on all fronts.
Thus, he has instructed his agents to assess the real possibility of securing a loan. He won’t seriously work on the deal until Monday, though, when he’s done with AFCON. His focus is currently on winning that.
The story is similar from Türkiye. Hurriyet report that Everton and Fenerbahce are continuing to negotiate about En-Nesyri this week. Everton are happy to pay €4.5m for a loan fee and include a €20m option at the end of it.
Everton trying their best, but can’t control climate
It’s the striker who is proving problematic. He has made it clear that he ‘wants to play in a warmer climate’. He has, thus far, rejected Everton. The Toffees are continuing negotiations with him.

Sabah say pretty much the same. According to their information En-Nesyri has ‘rejected two offers from England’ due to the ‘cold weather’.
Everton, Nottingham Forest, Napoli and Al Sadd have all contacted Fenerbahce about him. He is so far ‘hesitant’ about England due to the weather. They at least hint that Everton could convince him, unlike the others who say it’s an outright no.
Whether they actually can, is up for debate. If weather really is such a concern, the current forecasts won’t be doing their efforts any favours.
Everton and the city of Liverpool shouldn’t feel singled out, the same stance was made in the face of Nottingham Forest interest earlier this month and cold London was snubbed repeatedly when the player was at Sevilla.
