On July 18th, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso’s entourage admitted they’d held talks with Napoli over a potential move.
The Serie A winners reportedly tried to sign the 27-year-old on loan while Spurs chairman Daniel Levy then wanted to include a mandatory purchase option as part of the deal.
Napoli have now rekindled their interest in the Tottenham player. Two days ago, Il Mattino reported Spurs are looking for a permanent transfer while Napoli could convince them to let go of the player on a loan deal with an option to buy.
On Sunday, journalist Carmine suggested Ange Postecoglou’s side could accept the Italian champions’ loan offer for Lo Celso.
After claims of Napoli’s interest in the Argentina international reemerged, Radio Punto Nuovo got in touch with his entourage for an update.
“No, we haven’t spoken to anyone,” Lo Celso’s entourage said, when asked if they have held fresh talks with Napoli.
Despite this, the Italian media continue to link the South American to Napoli.
Lo Celso was as an unused substitute in the opening two games and then came off the bench in Tottenham’s 2-0 win over AFC Bournemouth at the weekend.
