Guido Rodríguez joined West Ham United on a free transfer in August of last year and was a regular at the start of the season.

The Argentina international started losing prominence in December and his situation worsened after West Ham replaced Julen Lopetegui with Graham Potter in January. He’s played 250 minutes from six games under the current Hammers manager.

River Plate are said to be keen on signing the West Ham player in the summer window.

On May 1st, TNT Sports stated talks are progressing for him to return to the Argentine club. They also reported the 31-year-old is excited about the possibility of returning to his country. Last week, journalist Marcela Brachetti said he wants to return to River Plate.

DSports had a chat with the midfielder to discuss the recent reports linking him to River Plate and Bolvip have relayed his comments.

Rodríguez is aware of the reports stating that River Plate have made an approach but says they haven’t contacted him.

“I know it came up, that there was a lot of talk about it, but the truth is no one contacted me, nor did I speak to anyone at the club. I really haven’t had any contact,” he said.

On River Plate, Rodríguez explained: “In every sense, it’s a top-level club in the world, which has grown a lot.”

The West Ham man has issued a warning to the Argentine club’s opponents at the Club World Cup.

“I think they can be a force in the Club World Cup. They are tough and complicated matches, but first you have to face them,” he added.
