Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane is undoubtedly one of the greatest srikers in world football, and that means he’s been compared to several players from the past.
Now we’ve never really seen him being compared to Ronaldo, who had totally different characteristics as a centre-foward. Still, in an interview with ESPN Brasil, Kane talked a little about his admiration for the player and how he’s learned from him.
“Yeah, I used to love watching him on Youtube and things like that. Just some of the goals he scored, he made it look easy at times. He’s a player I’d love to have played with in my career,” Kane told ESPN Brasil.
“He kind of had a bit of everything, you know? He could take players on, he had pace, he could finish from outside the box, he had power.
Asked by reporter Natali Gedra if he’s taken something from Ronaldo, Kane said: “Yeah, maybe. I think he had a bit more pace than I. A bit more skill as well. Yeah, he’s Brazilian, what would you expect?
“So… For me, as I said, it was kind of watching him, the way he scored goals, his finishing was great as well. So maybe watching him on videos when I was young it kind of made me take a little bit of that from him.”
Kane obviously talked about Tottenham as well, and when asked about the club’s ambition to win titles, he’s claimed that players, staff and manager are doing everything they can for it.
“People will have their opinions on the club, on what we should be doing. There’s no one who wants to win trophies more than the players, the staff and the manager. We’re doing everything we can. Obviously there’s different circumstances, kind of out of our control with the stadium and things like that.
“But we just gotta focus on the pitch and do our best on the pitch. Yeah, a lot of people will talk about money, that we don’t pay as much money and things like that. That’s not something we can control from our point of view as players and manager.”
