Tottenham defender Pedro Porro has insisted he would be happy to see Harry Kane join Real Madrid this summer if that move were to happen.
The defender has been speaking at a press conference ahead of the opening of a training camp named after him, which is set to run in Don Benito from 26th to 30th June.
It was during that presentation which the subject of Harry Kane’s future was brought up, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Kane is nearly in the final year of his deal at Tottenham and expected to leave this summer as a result, with no sign of a new contract being signed.
He’s been linked with big clubs around Europe, including Real Madrid, where he is reportedly Carlo Ancelotti’s number one choice to replace Karim Benzema.
That move would suit Tottenham, with it made clear in England that they would prefer to sell to a club in Europe rather than one of their Premier League rivals this summer.
And it seems if it were to happen then Kane would be sent with well wishes by his teammates, at least according to Porro.
He is quoted as saying that “if he (Kane) decides to go to Real Madrid” then Tottenham’s squad would be “as happy as him or even happier” to see it happen.
Whether that is actually the case remains to be seen. Losing Kane would be a major blow for Tottenham and we’re not sure his teammates, who arguably were bailed out by his performances this season, would be celebrating quite as much as Porro seems to suggest they would be.
