Tottenham want to ‘find an agreement’ for Club Brugge youngster Antonio Nusa this month but Ronny Deila is standing in the way of that at present.
That’s according to journalist Pieter-Jan Calcoen, who covers the player today and what’s currently happening with Tottenham’s efforts to sign him.
The youngster is one of the rising stars of Europe and has interesting sides in the Premier League since the summer, when he and his advisors rejected a move to Chelsea.
It is Tottenham who have made their move this month, with it made clear they were exploring a deal to buy the 18-year-old this month but leave him on loan at Brugge until the end of the season.
That is a deal that would suit both parties and reportedly something the player wants too, preferring to stay where he is and get regular playing time to continue his development.
Calcoen insists that remains the case, despite Tottenham’s desire to ‘find an agreement this winter’, the transfer will only take place at the end of the season or there will be a loan back to Brugge until that point.
That’s something Deila believes would be the deal on the table too, insisting that there’s no suggestion Nusa would go before that.
“Nusa is doing well,” Het Niuewsblad report him saying.
“And it will be interesting to see if anything moves around him in the coming days. But again: these things are happening above my head.
“I think it is very important for his personal development that he stays here for another six months. We want that, but that is also his personal wish.
“So, I don’t see him leaving this winter. He will more than likely move to a new team next summer. But normally he stays until June.”
