Arsenal have submitted an official offer for the signing of Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli, according to reports this evening.
Website CalcioMercato.it says the Gunners have presented a bid of €40m for the player.
The outlet doesn’t seem to have any information on what Sassuolo’s response will be, but they do make it clear that Locatelli himself may have other plans for his future.
It’s said the 23-year-old actually wants a move to Juventus, even though the Old Lady will now be forced to outbid Arsenal to win this competition.
The interest from the London side had already been confirmed by Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali last night, and now things seem to be getting more serious.
Besides Arsenal, Calcio Mercato claims that other sides such as Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in Locatelli as well.
Now with Mikel Arteta’s side taking the first step in the race, it remains to be seen if any of those sides will be able to make a better bid for the Italy international.
