Tuesday’s Vicente Guaita update from Spain wasn’t very positive. With Crystal Palace and Watford circling around the player, it was suggested his recent injury was transfer related.

With a desire to move to either Crystal Palace or Watford seeing a pull of the transfer muscle, Guaita didn’t play at the weekend and didn’t train at the beginning of this week.

The goalkeeper’s attitude around Getafe was said to be ‘very bad’ and the Spanish club had obviously been left annoyed.

Spanish claims stated that now they’d only allow a transfer if the player’s €8m clause is met, with both English clubs only going a little over half of that.

Wednesday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo reports Guaita has miraculously recovered and trained on Tuesday.

Interest from Crystal Palace and Besiktas is referenced, but not Watford, and it’s explained the request for €8m could be holding a transfer back.

Mundo Deportivo say the player’s initial intention had been to renew with Getafe and an outline agreement had been reached in December.

It wouldn’t be a huge surprise if another renewal attempt is made.
