Even though the City Football Group manages several clubs around the world, it’s inevitable that they’ll always be presented as the group including Manchester City.

That’s what happens in a report from Brazil this weekend, in which it’s said the group have made a bid for 20-year-old striker Evanilson.

Globo Esporte is the one reporting the talks, which are being handled with his parent club Tombense, even though he’s currently having a loan spell at Fluminense.

It’s claimed that the ‘initial idea’ is not for the player to be used by Manchester City. He’d first feature at another side from the group, such as Girona or New York City.

For those who have minimum knowledge about Brazilian football, you should know that Fluminense are way bigger than Tombense, which makes it strange that he’s only having a loan spell at the Rio de Janeiro side.

Evanilson belonged to Flu in the past, and only signed for Tombense last year, when he couldn’t find a renewal with the Tricolor. That sounds pretty much like a move from agents to get an easier transfer abroad.

This isn’t the first time Evanilson is linked to a Premier League club, since Liverpool were said to be in talks for him last year, when his contract with Fluminense was about to expire.

The report doesn’t say how much the City Group are offering for the striker.
