Brendan Rodgers lost one of his key players after Celtic sold Nicolas Kühn to Como earlier this month.
The 24-year-old has been speaking to Sky Italia to discuss his move from Celtic to the Serie A side and TuttoMercatoWeb have relayed his comments.
Kühn explained the Italian club’s interest in him wasn’t new and they even tried to sign him before he left Rapid Wein for Celtic in January 2024.
Cesc Fàbregas started his coaching career with Como U19s in the summer of 2023 and was appointed as interim manager later that year.
The Spaniard then became assistant to caretaker manager in December 2023 before taking over the permanent role in July 2024, following their promotion to the top flight.
Prior to Kühn’s move to Celtic Park, Fàbregas wanted to sign him for Como, when they were in Serie B. The pair seem to have maintained contact, and the manager has been key in helping the Serie A club sign the German.
“I had already spoken to Fàbregas; he wanted to bring me here even before I went to Celtic,” he said.
“He’s known me for a couple of years and has been an important part of it. I think the project speaks for itself: they want to grow quickly. It’s great to be part of it.”
The attacker scored 21 goals and registered 15 assists from 51 games for Celtic last season and is now eager to impress for Como.
“It’s really great to be here. The group has been really nice, I’ve settled in well and I can’t wait to play,” Kühn explained.
