Brighton & Hove Albion’s Deniz Undav is still waiting for his first league start since arriving at The Amex last summer.
The striker has eight substitute appearances in the league and two starts in the EFL Cup. He has been restricted to 259 minutes from 12 matches this season.
Lack of playing time at Brighton could see a handful of clubs try to take him in January. Last November, the 26-year-old admitted a loan move in the winter market remains a possibility.
Beşiktaş are in the market for a new No.9 after terminating Wout Weghorst’s loan deal. According to Takvim, the ‘great shock’ from the Dutchman’s exit has seen them look at Vincent Aboubakar and the Seagulls player to bolster their strike force.
The Cameroonian is the priority target, and he is negotiating to terminate his deal with Al-Nassr. Should Beşiktaş fail to sign Aboubakar, they will turn their attention towards the Brighton player.
Regarding Undav, it’s said Beşiktaş manager Şenol Güneş is also interested in him. Apart from the Black Eagles, Galatasaray have him on their agenda.
Takvim don’t mention whether Beşiktaş are considering taking Undav on a loan deal or permanent transfer.
For now, the Seagulls striker is a backup target as the Turkish club’s priority is to sign Aboubakar.
