West Bromwich Albion completed the signing of Tammer Bany from Randers FC on winter deadline day.
Bany has signed a contract until 2028 and two days ago, Tipsbladet stated he will receive a ‘wild salary’ at The Hawthorns. They stated he will earn £2.67m rising to £5.5m with bonuses over three and a half years.
They also reported the Danish club will collect £3.33m from West Brom, making him their biggest sale so far.
Randers signed the 21-year-old from Boldklubben af 1893, commonly known as B.93, in February 2024. A fresh report from Tipsbladet have put out an interview of B.93 sporting director Lars Lüthjohan’s views on the new West Brom signing
The attacking midfielder joined B.93’s youth team in 2019 and was promoted to their first team in 2021. He managed 14 goals and five assists from 66 games for the second division Danish club.
According to Tipsbladet, B.93 will receive DKK 6m [£670,000] from the resale clause plus money from FIFA’s solidarity mechanism. Their official is thrilled to see his former player thrive and also receive funds from the resale clause.
“It’s always nice when we see our own players develop and progress in the football world. It is a ray of sunshine story, and it is a great gift to all those who have worked with Tammer at the academy and in and around the first team. We were all excited when we read the news,” he said.
The director hasn’t confirmed the resale clause figure though. He’s pleased with Tammer’s development, but didn’t expect him to end up at West Brom in the last window.
“It’s a big thing. You can say that it is a very fast career that he has made for himself. He has taken a slightly different route than what you usually see,” Lüthjohan explained.
“It’s nice that he fell in with Randers FC very quickly and attracted interest from abroad. It is impressive. He can be really proud of that. And really good work by Randers too.
“I’m not at all surprised that he has moved on. He has a very fierce talent and knows some things that few footballers do. In addition, he is a fantastic boy who takes himself and football very seriously.
“We may be surprised that it has gone so quickly, but I don’t think this is the last we hear of Tammer. His journey has only just begun.”
