West Bromwich Albion and Queens Park Rangers are in the picture for Juárez goalkeeper Sebastián Jurado, according to a report.

The 28-year-old initially joined the Mexican club from Cruz Azul on loan in January 2024. He ended up making only 16 appearances for them, keeping three clean sheets and conceding 23 goals.

That was enough for Juárez to make his stay permanent a year ago. The stopper didn’t disappoint. He kept five clean sheets and conceded 35 goals from 25 matches last year.

Although the numbers don’t back it up, Fox Sports in Mexico say Jurado has been ‘delivering outstanding performances’ for Juárez. This has clearly not gone unnoticed in Europe and especially the UK, where West Brom and QPR are keen.

According to the report, the Mexican is attracting interest from both Eric Ramsey’s side and the London club.

The Championship duo aren’t thinking about him for the winter market, but for the summer. West Brom and Julien Stéphan’s side have already included the goalkeeper in their target list.

Fox Sports Mexico journalist Daniel Reyes, who is based in Europe, covers this report. He claims it’s ‘good news’ that Jurado has attracted interest from West Brom and QPR.

West Brom and QPR in mix for summer

There’s no mention whether the player is open to making a switch to England if West Brom or QPR were to make an approach.

He has a contract until December 2027 and Transfermarkt currently valued him at €1.8m. A fee slightly higher than that could be enough to snatch him away from the Mexican club after this season.

At West Brom, Josh Griffiths is the No.1 this season and he has a contract lasting until 2027.

QPR goalkeeper Paul Nardi is in his final year of contract. Faced with the possibility of losing him, Stéphan’s side may have identified Jurado as a target.
