The past few weeks have, for once, been rather positive on the Harry Winks front, as the Tottenham loanee recovers from an injury while on loan at Sampdoria.
The midfielder was sent to the Serie A side to get regular game time this season, but has been hindered by an ankle issue that saw him miss the entire first half of the season.
He underwent surgery following approval from both Tottenham and Sampdoria, and is now recovering, hoping to be back stronger for the second half of the campaign.
He insisted on heading to Turkey with the Sampdoria squad to take part in training and spend time with his teammates for their tour of friendlies, but SampNews24 report the player will not take part in the upcoming game with Kaysar.
With that in mind, the Tottenham man ‘will spend the Christmas holidays in London’, together with his family, before returning to Italy to ‘continue his treatment’.
In fact, ‘barring setbacks’, his recovery times ‘are getting shorter’, and the hope is that he could make his ‘long-awaited debut’ in a Sampdoria shirt sometimes between January and February.
