By the start of the summer, it seemed obvious that Chelsea would end up finding a deal with Inter Milan for the transfer of Romelu Lukaku.
Then it was found out that the striker was also negotiating with AC Milan and Juventus, and it soon became clear there were advanced talks for him to join the Old Lady.
That hasn’t happened, though, and now it’s time for AS Roma to get linked to the Chelsea forward. This information is brought by outlet Gialorossi.net.
On their ‘On Air’ section today, they get the quotes from Filippo Biagora, who on Tele Radio Stereo, talked about this interest in Lukaku.
“It’s good to dream, when the club probed Mourinho two years ago it was a dream, which then came true. The same goes for Dybala. Dreams sometimes come true… Lukaku wants to stay in Europe, he is separated at home at Chelsea. In England there’s talk of Tottenham who sold Kane, but the list of big clubs has dwindled. And in Trigoria they’re thinking of giving it a go, then maybe they’ll say no thanks.”
Lukaku wasn’t used by Mauricio Pochettino in any of Chelsea’s two matches this season, and it’s more than clear that the manager does not count on him after he was not given a number by the club.
The striker’s move to Juventus was heavily related to a swap with Dusan Vlahovic. But the clubs haven’t managed to find a deal, and the Old Lady have no interest in the Belgian in case the Serbian doesn’t leave them this summer.
It seems Roma could indeed show up as an interesting option, as long as they can make a satisfying offer.
