In need of strengthening their attack in the winter market, West Ham United took Jesse Lingard on loan from Manchester United.

Lingard has impressed for the Hammers, scoring five goals and registering two assists in seven league matches.

According to Fichajes.net, the London club looked at Atlético Madrid winger Vitolo prior to taking the England international on a temporary deal.

Vitolo has struggled for minutes this season and has been restricted to less than 400 minutes of action across 12 matches in all competitions.

It’s claimed the winger has his days numbered at Wanda Metropolitano as he continues to be overlooked by Diego Simeone. The manager has communicated to his bosses that he doesn’t want to have the 31-year-old at the club next season.

Therefore, the Madrid club have ‘contacted’ David Moyes’ side, who are still interested in the player.

Vitolo can be a ‘golden opportunity’ for the Premier League club and his signing ‘would not reach €10m’. Offloading the wideman will help Atlético get rid of his wages from their salary budget.

West Ham already know about Atlético’s intention with Vitolo and the report adds there’s a possibility of reaching a resolution even before the end of the season.
