A week after the transfer window closed, Antonio Nusa admitted Chelsea had put forward a lot of money for him and he was tempted by such an opportunity, but ultimately decided to stay where he was.

The Blues are expected to revive their interest in the forward ahead of future windows, with it being claimed that other clubs will join them and the competition for the Club Brugge player will grow.

At the weekend, Club Brugge beat Charleroi 4-2, with Nusa scoring the crucial goal to make it 3-2 and then assisting for his club’s fourth.

HLN report that after the match, his manager Ronny Deila said: “Nusa is the prince of Norway, after Haaland of course.”

The player himself simply said he was glad to help the team, and didn’t mind filling in at various positions as the match came to an end.

Dubbed a ‘Golden Boy’ by the Belgian newspaper, it’s explained that Nusa could be facing more attempts for his signature as quickly as January.

Chelsea are inevitably mentioned, but so are Real Madrid, Juventus and Arsenal, and it’s claimed half the top clubs in Europe are keen on the 18-year-old.

On the prospect of a move in the near future, Nusa is quoted as saying: “My focus is on Club Brugge. Of course, as a footballer you want to make the right choice, and you only know that when you take the next step. I have agreed with my family and my agent agent that Club Brugge remains the right choice at the moment.”

But, for how long? Chelsea will need to stay close to the player’s situation to make sure they’re able to compete when the time comes.
