Nottingham Forest star Murillo has admitted they’re not ruling out a title challenge this season as their season continues to go from strength to strength.

GE Globo have an interview with the defender today in which he refuses to rule out a run for the title.

Nottingham Forest currently sit third in the table on 44 points, the same as Arsenal and six behind leaders Liverpool.

They are four points ahead of fourth placed Chelsea and six ahead of Manchester City and Newcastle United in fifth and six respectively.

It’s proving to be a wonderful season so far, with 13 wins, five draws and four defeats in 22 games so far.

If Arsenal are in the title hunt, then so are they given the pair sit on equal points after an equal number of games this season.

It’s almost a fairytale situation for Nuno Espirito Santo and his side, who finished 17th last season and only six points away from relegation.

They’re playing down expectations about a potential title challenge, with many expecting it to be difficult for them to maintain their form in the second half of the season.

Murillo isn’t joining in on that, though, and insists he and his teammates won’t be letting the situation slip away from them.

“It has been a long time since the club had been in a situation like this, fighting for the Champions League, even for the title, who knows, God willing,” he said.

“The good thing is that we don’t get complacent. Try to work harder and pursue your goal. We know it’s close, of course there’s a lot left, there’s a giant book ahead of us, many pages to be turned.

“I try to use a little of the English I have to speak to people and transmit this energy that we are close to, which can achieve what we are looking for very well. Let’s keep working, and in a while we’ll be able to take a breather, and we’ll be able to achieve our goal. “

“Of course, when we think about the Premier League, we automatically think about the most famous clubs. Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, United, so on. But when you experience the Premier League, when you’re here, you know that every game is important, and that every game is difficult.”
