Crystal Palace’s Yéremy Pino remains confident his performances will further improve in the coming months.
The Spain international is a product of Villarreal’s academy and spent five years with their first team.
He scored four goals and contributed 10 assists from 35 matches for the La Liga club last season. This convinced Crystal Palace to invest on him in August. Pino has two assists from 10 matches for the Eagles.
On Sunday, the 23-year-old started in the league defeat to Arsenal. After the match, he spoke to Spain’s EFE about his life in London and other topics. Mundo Deportivo have relayed his comments.
Pino explained he’s adapting well at Crystal Palace and life in the English capital and still needs time to settle in.
“The truth is, I’m very happy. Little by little, I’m adapting to the Premier League and the pace, which is faster than that of the Spanish league, but I’m very happy,” he said.
“I’m confident and calm because I know that when I’m more adapted, I’ll be better and the good performances will come.
“I’ve never left home, and it’s been an adventure for me, and I want to make the most of it. Little by little, I’m gaining confidence, and I’m sure it’s only going to get better.”
Last season, Crystal Palace won the FA Cup, after beating Manchester City in the final. This was the first major trophy in the club’s history. Oliver Glasner’s side also overcame Liverpool to win the Community Shield in August.
When asked about Crystal Palace and his personal goals for this season, Pino explained: “Crystal Palace has won titles in recent years, and the goal is to continue that trend. We know it’s difficult, but that’s what we’ve set out to do.
