Wednesday’s edition of Ouest France has an article on Stade Rennais transfer business this summer, and headline it by saying ‘Danger: Construction site’.
There’s an awful lot of business expected to happen at the Ligue 1 side as they look to remodel their squad ahead of the French season starting.
The squad started preseason this week and that their training centre is literally under construction is seen as something of a sign.
Midfield is one area they want to bring bodies in, and Leeds United’s Glen Kamara is said to be ‘in a good position’ to arrive at the French side.
The interest is real, with Ouest France confirming it themselves and saying he’s a ‘serious option’, although at this stage there’s been no contact with Leeds United.
Once again, there’s no indication of what Stade Rennais would want to pay Leeds United for the 28-year-old.
Kamara has a contract at Elland Road until 2027, was a used member of the squad last season, and Leeds are going to want a reasonable fee.
Until that issue is at least addressed, it’s clear this interest is dependent on finding out the finances.
