French side Rennes have ‘reactivated’ their interest in Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos and are ready to pay €15m to secure his signature this summer.

The Ligue 1 side are keen to improve their forward options and have been trying to get a deal for striker Serhou Guirassy over the line.

They have made a €12m offer for the Amiens star, but they want more than €20m for their man and, thus, that potential deal is now ‘deadlocked’.

As a result, Rennes ‘activates other tracks’ and among those, they are looking at is Rangers’ Morelos according to Foot Mercato.

The French side have been keen on the Colombian for the last two year, with Morelos having managed 52 goals in 106 games since arriving at Ibrox three seasons ago.

He has earned plenty of interest during that time, and while Rangers have resisted before, they have now agreed to sell this summer for €15m, even planning for his departure by looking for a successor.

Aware of the situation, Rennes have ‘reactivated’ their former interest and would be willing to pay Rangers’ asking price as they are ‘seduced’ by him.

They, though, face stern competition for his signature. Saint-Etienne and Marseille have both been interested in the past and, while they have ‘dropped the case’, there is every chance they can reactivate that interest too.

There is also interest from ‘Premier League clubs’, who are also said to be ‘very interested’ in the Colombian striker should he be made available.

Who those clubs are isn’t made clear, but it seems Rangers could have a potential bidding war on their hands for Morelos this summer.
