Pierre-Michel Lasogga has been an interesting character in the German media over the past few years, often represented strongly by his mother.

A very talented player, sometimes transferring that talent into performances has been an issue, but Lasogga has certainly provided entertainment in one way or another.

Around the same time reports came out of Yorkshire on Thursday evening about Leeds United interest in the Hamburg forward, German newspaper Bild were covering it too.

Going with a headline reading ‘now it’s serious’, Bild, Europe’s biggest selling newspaper, believe a transfer to Leeds United is a real possibility.

Leeds United have ‘extended the feelers’, say Bild, and it’s explained a loan move to England could be the ‘best solution’ for all involved.

Being fifth choice at Hamburg, Lasogga would get more prominence at Leeds United and could increase his market value ahead of next summer. That would mean Leeds playing the 25 year old, and not just sitting him on the bench just-in-case something happens to Chris Wood.

Lasogga earns €3.4m per year at Hamburg, and it’s accepted the German club could continue to pay some of this during a loan to Leeds. They’d surely want assurances over playing time to do so.

There’s one drawback Bild can see. Lasogga and his girlfriend are expecting a child in early September, which may make them reluctant to leave Germany.
