The German media are obviously aghast at reports from England that Bastian Schweinsteiger has been banished from Manchester United’s first team squad.
Various reports in English stated Schweinsteiger was training with the reserves, youths, and had even been forced to clear out his locker in the first team dressing room at Carrington.
Germany’s Express say Schweinsteiger has been humiliated on his 32nd birthday by Mourinho, and Bild cover the English claims of him being told to clear out his first team locker.
However, it must be noted that on Sunday, Bild were very clear in saying Mourinho had not yet spoken to Schweinsteiger about him leaving the club, leaving the midfielder to feel his future remained at Manchester United.
Bild said that, given Schweinsteiger hadn’t been informed any differently, he had no intention of leaving Manchester United.
Either those close to Schweinsteiger aren’t being entirely honest with their friends in the German media, Mourinho is trying to give his player the hint without actually telling him, or the midfielder’s banishment isn’t quite what it seems.
