Sky Deutschland are reporting on Tuesday evening that Manchester United have ‘finally’ made their first offer for Jadon Sancho.
After months of claims from the media around Europe, it’s stated the first official bid from Old Trafford has been deposited with Borussia Dortmund.
That’s the good news. Here’s the bad news… the same report says the offer has been rejected.
Manchester United are said to have offered an initial payment of €80m plus a further €20m in bonus payments, yet it’s been knocked back at this stage.
The total package of €100m is less than Borussia Dortmund wanted earlier this summer, with the Bundesliga club insisting €120m guaranteed was all they would accept. In addition, there was a deadline for the deal to be done, which was August 10th, ahead of BVB going on their preseason tour.
Since then there hasn’t been any sign from Germany that Dortmund would change their stance, yet it seems Manchester United are now actually making an effort to get the deal done. Sky Deutschland also state personal terms and agent commissions have been agreed for some time, referring to one of their previous reports.
